Default Is there any way to...

I had to reinstall the photoplog directory as it got deleted accidently. I put it back up, the images got deleted of course. And, now I want the posts that were posted in the gallery cleared. How might I just go and delete them, or just reset it so those posts are not there anymore.

I would say if you dont have a backup of the images diretory of the gallery the only way to remove dead entries in the db would be to uninstall the product and start from scratch.
If you had a recent backup of that directory then you would just re upload it and then have to manually drop the irrelevant entries left in a mysql manager like phpMyAdmin.
