Okay, now remove those echo statements, and then find:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
Remove @ from that line, and again upload the book picture.

What shows on screen?

Okay, instead in the functions.php file find:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
And temporarily replace with the following:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
Try another book upload. Anything new on screen?

'Tis okay, strange you can do GIFs, not JPGs.

Now find the first instance of the following:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
And afterwards add the following:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
What's this show after book upload?

Okay, undo any previous changes and then find:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
And temporarily replace with the following:
Code:
Content visible to registered users only.
Another book upload. What shows now?
