There is at least one PhotoPlog Pro gallery out there currently holding over 60,000 images, but as I haven't seen a PhotoPlog Pro gallery larger than that, I cannot answer your questions with certainty. What I can tell you is that MySQL can certainly store 500,000 rows, PhotoPlog Pro does make use of a number of indexes on its database tables, and quite a few PhotoPlog Pro queries were examined using MySQL's EXPLAIN to check for optimization. With that said, at 500,000 images there is almost certainly a hardware consideration, along with its settings, that should be factored into the question too.
