Currently PotoPlog utilizes GD, but the ability to use ImageMagick will be added to a future pro release. As for image resizing, PhotoPlog keeps the original and makes three thumb sizes: small, medium, large. You can set the maximum dimensions for each thumb size in the settings and, should you choose to change the dimensions, you can rebuild thumbs with pro in the maintenance section.
