Default Thumbnail strip vanishing after page refresh

Hello,

I seem to have a little problem with Photoplog Lite. My forum isn't live yet, but I've recently noticed that the tumbnail strip of Photos under the navbar seems to disappear sometimes when the page is refreshed. I didn't notice this until today when I was refreshing the page over and over to test a rotating banner I added to the header, so I don't actually know if I've had the issue since I first installed Photoplog Lite. It's happening on both IE and Firefox, so it's not a browser issue. I'm running vBulletin 3.7.3 Patch Level 1.

You can see for yourself here: http://thereptileforum.com/forum/index.php (Refresh a few times)

It shows up fine every time on the portal page, but not the forum index.

Any ideas on what might be causing this or how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the links, Morgan. I couldn't find that in my seach earlier. Unfortunately, I have edited that line out of settings.php and uploaded the file again, but nothing seems to have changed. After a handful of refreshes, the thumbnail strip vanishes again. Was there another file I needed to edit?

That is the only edit required. Please double check that you removed the bit in red from the PhotoPlog Forum Home Thumbs plugin:

My mistake. I edited settings.php rather than the PhotoPlog Forum Home Thumbs plugin. I'm still pretty new to vBulletin and how everything works. Anyhow, it seems to be working fine now that I made the proper edit. Thanks very much, Morgan!

Just curious, you mentioned in the other threads that larger galleries should keep that line I just removed. Can I ask why it's necessary and how large is large? I'm about to open my forum to the public and the member count has the potential to grow pretty quickly. Is there an approximate number of images that counts as a "large" gallery?

Also, is this an issue with Photoplog Pro? If not, I might just upgrade.

It helps prevent the scan/selection of all rows from the table, i.e., a way to optimize an ORDER BY RAND() query without scanning/grabbing all the rows. It is hard to say how many is too many, but after a few hundred uploaded files, you should probably undo the edit, and yes, the pro version does the same sort of thing.
