Default GD2 and 'safe mode'

My forum is hosted on pair.com. My searches don't show anything relating to "GD2" or whether or not i can turn off 'safe mode'. I'd like to buy this software, but don't know if it's compatible with my host. Does anyone know if it will operate on pair.com?

Send an email to your host, and ask to see the PHP info page, as I have no idea what that host offers in terms of setup and configuration.
