Default Sorry user bad file...

Hiya, just a quick one.

Had a complaint from one of my forum users that occasionally he can't upload to the Photoplog on www.retroremakes.com/forum2 as it throws an "Sorry <user>, Bad File" error message at him.

Got him to send the file over to me and it uploaded absolutely fine, so sat on it for a while assuming it was a problem on his end.

Anyway, cut to the chase - just uploading some mag scans to the forum and intermittantly Photoplog is throwing the same error at me.

Is it something I've monged up along the line, as I can't seem to narrow down whats causing it?

Any help appreciated.

Its most likely your max filesize setting in usergroups photoplog section. Increase these to what your happy allowing or reduce the pic sizes some.

First thing I tried, thanks though

It seems to be quite temperamental about it - one of the scans it refused to accept it as a png and a jpg file for a few attempts, then on a further attempt it just worked and uploaded fine. After that, its been hit and miss on wether something goes through or not regardless of size or file type.

Seems most odd.

All my permissions are set fine in the folders as far as I can tell. Its got me stumped.

When uploading a file, the 'bad file' message is generated if one of the following occurs:
  • user tries to upload as someone else
  • file is not uploaded via an HTTP POST
  • there is a file upload error: see here
  • the file has no size or is larger than the max file size set in PhotoPlog
  • the MIME type is not image/gif, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, or image/png
